I mega wiped out a few days ago.. Icy Montreal streets. And my hands were in my pockets, so nothing to break the fall except my knee and my elbow. Glad my head is okay.. Jet lagged but okay.. But anyway, it was so painful, and it still is actually, the cut.. There’s a cut on my knee.. It happened quickly and I wanted to make sure it wouldn’t get infected.. So, without thinking too much about it, I cleaned the wound and put like 8 bandages on it [there was no gauze around].. Anyway, I’ve been thinking about this cut, perhaps as one would about an old friend.. I’ve had dreams about it and others in which I’ve had lengthy conversations with it.. Nothing too deep or meaningful.. The old “how’s your day / the weather” sorta chit chat..  Rambling again.. Anyway, you get a sort of respect for these things, old wounds. But, I took the bandages off today and saw that my cut is not really all that substantial in the end.. Nothing like the imagined thing.. Maybe the blood and the immediate pain made it seem more substantial before.. But now, yeah.. not as cool a scar as I’ve led myself to believe it would be.. And I’m disappointed.. I feel like the pain I felt isn’t as warranted as it was before.. Needless to say, I’ve terminated the relationship.

Canada lost against the US last night, which is not nice.. Vancouver is warm, which is nice.. CBC 3 live radio interview tomorrow, feb 23 2010, at 2 pm Pacific for those interested.. I am pretty funny live.. That is an attempt to sway you into listening / at a joke.. You know this..  OLYMPICS!!

I was browsing on the internet today on the POSTDATA Facebook page and realized that this event was already public knowledge.. Facebook, you win again.. I have known about it for a while actually but have been holding it secret for some reason, one of those things.. you feel like if you say it aloud it won’t come true.. I guess that isn’t the best for attendance at said shows though, so I gotta step up my publicity game a little bit here.. Anyway.. This is going to be so much fun. Clinton St. John of Cape May fame will be taking over Brian’s spot from Calgary to BC.. Please check the tour dates section for more info..

Also.. Newfoundland.. I realize that it is not included here.. Newfoundland is the one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to and Danny Williams rules.. I always feel very lucky to play there whenever I get the chance annddd one of my best buds lives there too & is due for a visit.. But it is too expensive for this trip.. “We’ll see” is what my mom used to say when I was a kid [sometimes it meant no straight up & other times it was a bit more hopeful, the latter of course being the way in which I say it]..

PS  I realize calling it a Canadian tour is misleading in that it is only select spots in Canada.. Time restrictions did not allow for a full on Canadiana thing.. Will do that soon in another format.. Sorry for the mega long post.. I’ll stop now.

I’ve been logging & charting out my hours of sleep over the past few days.. My friend Stacey bough an APP for her Iphone that does this too apparently, logs sleep.. charts and graphs it.. It tells her how deep or shallow she is sleeping at different points in the night. and also the amount of total hours. Pretty soon I’m sure you’ll be able to download dreams.. $1.99 Itunes exclusive.. I’m sure someone is working on this..

Last night I think I just dreamed about playing guitar in front of people.. Which is kind of disconcerting.. I think Brad Pitt was there.. Brad Pitt.. It might have just been him actually.. Mmh.. Anyway, 12 hours of bed sleep and about 3 hours Hyundai hatchback sleep in total in the past 3 days.. Hyundai Hatchback sleep= Back relatively straight up, sitting position.. head roughly a 90′ angle to spine, “resting” on David’s suitcase, which has to be packed [the suitcase] in the middle of the back seat due to space issues.. And legs squished.. I sound like a real bummer.. Zurich was great last night.. Just a few hours to Milan.

Utrecht was bonkers.. So fun.. Just wanted to point you in the media direction of the site.. Recorded a snappy little version of Tobias Grey a few days ago in Bremen with my friend Christoph, who is the sweetest fellow in the world maybe & plays a pretty mean cello to boot.. To boot..I’m a big dork.. Anyway, thanks Christoph.. Amsterdam tonight.

Day 2 of tour.. Antwerp last night.. Don’t have a lot of time to write this, as I’m in a lobby, waiting to bust a groove any time.. Bust a groove, eh? Some descriptions words about the first POSTDATA show. “Nerve-wrecking” is probably the word for the day.. But really fun.. Slightly out of tune.. Sorry Tobias. And lucky to be doing this.. Merci.. Utrecht tonight methinks.. Hopefull some Utrecthians on the board will come out? I’m sure you aren’t called a Utrechtian if you come from Utrecht, but my Dr. Spock [sp?] filled sci-fi brain wants to call you that..

A grown man woke up to a “weeeeeee” lodged somewhere deep in his subconscious.. Why? Well, perhaps it was because today there are tangible POSTDATA [why do I always capitalize every letter in this word?] CDs/vinyls of the record in local record stores.
